WarMetal Unit Analysis[]

The high proc rate to bring in other Bloodthirsty units and prevent a nice amount of healing makes Venomous Raptor a decent PvP unit, especially when brought in by Blood Pool. Placed with a Malgoth boosted Vindicator formation (whichever one) and it is an even nicer addition.

Tyrant Card Analysis[]

Venomous Raptor is widely regarded as a high power attacker with moderate ready value. It is widely used in Bloodthirsty decks.

The Raptor is specifically strong against assaults without Armor and Counter, and those with high ready or low health. Raptor is known to deal up to 8 damage in a turn with merely a Rally from Asylum, and the Flurry makes it strong even against Flying assaults (which have maximum of 8 health currently). Killing assaults with Raptor is easy for the Poison 2 it grants, and Raptor can infect more assaults before it dies. Thus, the Raptor is widely used once players get hold of it, to boost the attack power of Bloodthirsty decks.

Raptor can be killed by Armor, Counter, Jam, Flying and Immobilize means. Its high firepower is vulnerable to interrupts to its attack, Counter can be used to deal lethal damage back; Armor, Jam and Immobilize effectively stops its action for its lack of base attack. Flying can also gain time to fight back.

Note that venomous raptor essentially requires rally if you are going to use it against human opponents. This is common-sense for any flurry assault, but is particularly important for this one, since its poison is damage-depenendent; Dracorex, armor, or protection will render it totally ineffectual without a source of Rally to boost its attack. This is rarely a problem in Bloodthirsty, but it's an important point to keep in mind. --RuriRuriRuri 04:37, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
