Against the first commander with a skill, Elena has become very important, if better cards are not obtained yet. Also, Thadius is not available until mission 17. From now on, it is recommended to buy large number of Sawblade, as of its superior power will help through large number of missions, until mission 45.
Having a single Bazooka Marine from bronze packs will also help significantly, although not as much as Elena.
